Weather nothing like yesterday so far, we shall see. I was hoping for another beautiful day for the day I TURN 50!!!!!! A day I wondered several years ago if I would ever see. Since dad and my half-brother Gary both died in their thirties…… But Mike in a few days will be 52 so we have beaten the odds for sure.
I really thought this one would bother me, but I’m really only a day older than when I was 49, a very few hours ago. I own a house now. Again a day that I didn’t think would ever come. Jodi knows that for ME I didn’t not need or want a house but for US and for her it was the right thing to do. I like the location better than I thought I would. Biking will be great, if I want a butt-kicking work out head south and west for hill-climbing, if I just want to get out and stroll on asphalt and concrete head east and north. The views are fantastic. I’m going to get my grill today, hmmm just thought of something. How will I get it home?? Anyway, so I will really start enjoying my back yard, which I have to clean up this afternoon while it isn’t snow covered. I cannot wait until the evenings are warm enough to sit outside. The night skies here at the house are fantastic!!! Back yard was nasty, these people amaze me!! We could never have left such a mess as they did, not just in the yard, for anyone buying a house from us. No way!! Got the worst cleaned up. Discovered a water system for the flowers in the back and found what looks like a pump and plumbing for a water feature. Will have to check this out on a less rainy day!!
Picked out a grill for sure but didn’t bother bringing it home on the rain, we’ll go one day this week. Great birthday with my dollymoo! How has she put up with me for so many years???
To work at 0600. YUCK!! Usually no problem but I was VERY tired this morning. Off at 1430. Home in wonderful warm, beautiful sunshine to find the garage door open and Jodi working on a shelf for her craft room. So warm I could not stand it, I changed into shorts and a t-shirt and climbed on 2 wheels for the first time in 2010. First time just rolling out of the garage. Headed south then west so there was nothing flat about it. Found some good dirt hills to play on. Being so long since I had been on her, been WAY too busy in Dec and Jan house hunting, house shopping, house buying and moving, 45 minutes of deep, soft dirt and nothing but hills was enough. Besides we had stuff to do, Jodi hadn’t eaten since a bagel a breakfast and it’s now after four o’clock and then we’re going gas grill shopping for me for my birthday.
BUSY at work today. 9 hours again. I am worn out. Fantastic sunrise and sunset today. I LOVE IT HERE MORE ALL THE TIME!!!
Reports of wrecks on the roads we take to work but we didn’t have any problem at all. Melting started early. By the time we got home the snow was gone out of our yard. To Home Depot AGAIN!! Jodi basically finished her craft room. I have just a little left in the garage. Now hang pictures, vacuum, clean the trash the people left in our back and side yards (as soon as it isn’t raining or snowing) and we’ll be ready to take and post a lot of pictures. I’m working 4 to 6 hours O/T again this week. Love the extra money and considering it’s dark when I get off, who cares.
I am off today and enjoying my first day off since moving into the new house. Just chillin’ this morning but I have to go soon to get a haircut and get a few groceries. Then to work on my garage most of the day. I want it finished today!!! Much to do. I would love to be hiking but the weather does not look good. I’ll save that for Sunday. We are taking that day off from working around this house.
Snowed until early afternoon and immediately started melting. Most on our deck so far though. Surprise, surprise we went to Home Depot again. Jodi worked a lot on her room a bunch. I almost finished the garage.
I do like the desk at work. New neighbor talks too much but not as many talking so it isn’t as bad. To Home (Away from Home) Depot to get shelf brackets and a box for my internet jack in the garage. I mostly rested tonight, Jodi worked on her room.
The day at work started out good, scripts were flying. When the girls got there it got WAY too loud. I finally went to Justen and asked if he could move me. He did. New location is better. We shall see in the long run. To Costco to get Jodi’s table for her craft room and other junk of course. Home to work on that room for a while. Jodi did most of that I rested a little finally.
Painted the quest room/Jodi’s craft room today. Not as bad as I thought but we are tired. We took our time, cut no corners and did, we think, a very good job! Karrie, Jim and Eli stopped by to pick up some supper Jodi had made for them. They were our first company in our new house!!
Finally had a Saturday off. Very nice to have a morning to enjoy at home. We’ve worked on so much around here I don’t even remember what we did this Saturday, I’m still a couple days behind. Oh yeah, finished with Cottonwood Ranch!!!!!! Went to the library. Bought paint, etc for tomorrow. Stopped by Karrie and Jim’s to get rodeo tickets and paint supplies. Rodeo at the Santa Ana Star arena. Much fun!!! Box seats, VIP parking! I’m starting to get used to this.
We’ve lived here a week now. SO hard to believe!
After work Jodi went to the bank and got cash to pay Cottonwood Ranch our “break-the-lease” month’s rent. When she got to CR they told her they don’t freaking take cash!! This damn piece of shit place makes it as hard as they possibly can to deal with them. Jodi went back to the bank to get a certified check but their machine was down so she couldn’t get it. I have never seen anything such a pain in the ass as everything we try to do with CR. Now we have to go to the bank in the morning, get a cashier’s check, go back to CR and pay that last freaking month’s rent. I just hope they say one thing so I can go te-freaking-totally off on them. To hell with our $200 deposit!! Once we got home we put the bookshelf together and worked on the study more. Thank god tomorrow is my first Saturday off in three weeks!!! Going to the rodeo Saturday night.
